Indias animal world

Filed under: Other things — sarahkoch @ 2:00 pm

Because of its landscape varietis we find a very species-rich animal world in India.

There are about 350 kinds of mammal, 1200 kinds of bird, 400 kinds of reptile and 200 kinds of amphibian domestic.

The two most famous mammals are the big Indian elephant

and the beautiful tiger, which was threatened of becoming extinct for a long time. But now the existence can recover again, since protection devices were built.

Indias bird world with over 1200 native kinds – that is more than in Euroope – is extremely various. The national bird is the peacock.

Monkeys are also very important to India. Rhesus monkes are considered as holy to the Hindus, they may not be troubled and therefore they also live in cities.
